Pet Therapy

Interaction with animals is scientifically proven to help cope with a variety of difficulties including self-restraint, anxiety and alienation. Other therapies that are focussed on the child, make the child conscious; whereas, in pet therapy the prime focus is on the pet, thereby making the child feel more comfortable. The pet therapy session is casual and directed towards seeking comfort and enjoyment from spending time with our pet dog. The benefits from this therapy are increased levels of motivation, confidence, literacy skills as well as reduced self-restraint, loneliness and anxiety.

Reflex Integration

This therapy is about using Neurodevelopmental Movement to improve the body’s reflexes for optimal functioning. Reflexes are a set of automatic movements that every human is born with. They are extremely important for proper development of the brain, nervous system and sensory systems. Repetitive reflex movements are essential to the development of balance, vision, mobility, hearing, speaking, learning and communication. Enhancing these reflexes is key for the ability to learn easily. It helps manage emotions and impulses and also creates positive changes.

Arts Based Therapy

ABT is a therapy and a healing technique that aims to improve the physical, emotional, and social skills of the child. Artistic tools such as visual art, dance and movement, story-telling and puppet shows, games and rhymes are employed to keep the children engaged during therapy. This technique improves the focus and attention span and cognition. It enhances motor planning, co-ordination and mood regulation response time and also aids in appropriate social response and engagement.

BEMER Vascular Therapy

Oxygen is the primary food for the brain. Brain injury occurs when the brain suffers a significant loss of oxygen. Anoxia (the absence of oxygen) causes brain injury. Hypoxia (insufficient oxygen) compounds the injury. Children with special needs are in a constant state of hypoxia. BEMER helps improve microcirculation. BEMER therapy results in 29 % increased microcirculatory blood flow and 29% increased oxygen utilization, this results in improved supply of oxygen to all the organs of the body including the brain.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy believes that everyone is born with an underlying infinite order of intelligence or “vital force” energy that keeps our heart beating and runs our body. This constant undetectable intelligence is carried by the nervous system to every cell in our body supplying it with all the information it needs to function as planned, every day. Unfortunately, structural imbalances and spinal misalignments can interfere with the transmission of intelligence, causing imbalance and altered cell formation that in time can create many health problems and disease. The main job of Craniosacral Therapy is to help correct structural imbalances in the human body allowing the innate intelligence to go where it needs to go and to restore impeded circulation, alleviate any nerve impingement and thus allowing dysfunctional cells to heal themselves.
